Dear Milwaukee Brewer fans,

First of all, (most of) you annoy me. The Milwaukee Brewers began in 1970 - that's forty-one seasons ago. And in that time they've made it the world series just once where they lost to St. Louis cardinals, four games to three. They had lots of quiet years until the 2008 season where they were the wildcard team in the National League. But, they lost to the Phillies, squishing all hopes of competing in another World Series. Let's take a moment now to examine the Atlanta Braves, who, mind you, were in Milwaukee before relocating to Atlanta in 1966. Though for comparison sakes, we'll only look at them after 1970 to keep things fair.

Here's a name for you: Hank Aaron. Enough said. Yes, I know the Braves had a few not-so-good seasons in the past, but success hit in 1990 when they used there first pick to draft the wonderful Larry "Chipper" Jones. This "Worst to First" team went to the World Series in 1991 but, unfortunately, lost to the Minnesota Twins. They, once again, appeared in the World Series in 1992 but lost to the Toronto Blue Jays. In 1993, although they didn't make it to the World Series, they did play in the National League Championship Series against the Phillies. Finally, in 1995, they won the World Series! In 1996 and 1999, they appeared again in the World Series, losing both times to the New York Yankees. In 2005 they won the Division championship for the fourteenth consecutive season. Last season they won the National League Wild Card but, sadly, lost to San Fran Giants.

I think I made my point. The Braves have accomplished more in 20 years than the Brewers did in 40.

I understand you love your team. I love mine too. But don't make excuses for them. Don't undermine Prado's hits during the double header or call it "luck". If Braun or Weeks would've done that, it would've been "talent". Come on now, Brewer fans. Don't act like Cubs fans. And remember - last night Prado's "lucky" home run won the game, sweeping away the Brewers as they won all four games in that series. So, next time you want to give me crap about Atlanta? Don't forget who has won the World Series before.
