I had amazing seats for both of the games I went to this week, if you can't tell from the picture above. I was so close I could literally see the ripples on Dan Uggla's arms. Section 120, row 8 - couldn't get much better than that. It was pretty much the most exciting thing. Ever. Wait. I take that back. Second most exciting thing. I met Jason Heyward. I got his autograph! There were a lot of people crowded around and since I'm fairly small I couldn't see anything. I tapped a guy on the shoulder and said, "Excuse me. I'm a girl. I should be able to be up front." So, he moved and pushed people away so I could sneak to the front! All I had was my ticket (note to self: bring baseball next game) and I didn't have a marker or pen. I handed my ticket to Heyward and then went, "I don't have a pen.." and he said, "Can anyone get this lady a marker?" Then he signed it. Okay, so it wasn't that personal of a meeting. But still. It will do.
Unfortunately the Braves lost both of the games I was at, but they put up a good fight. Milwaukee has a pretty solid team this year so losing by one run at Miller is pretty impressive. Highlight: Jason's three run home run. Seeing that was completely exciting, especially since I was right up front and I'm pretty sure he heard me screaming. I was surrounded by Brewer fans so when he went up to bat I was the only one rooting him on. Ironically, right before his home run, I shouted, "Home run!" and sure enough, he did it!
I think this season will pick up for the Braves. I mean, with Heyward, Chipper, Uggla, and Prado they have a decent hitting line up. And I think Freeman will start to warm up to things and start hitting better. I'm not saying they'll win the World Series this year (that would take a miracle from the looks of it) but I do think they'll win their division. Hopefully they can work on their pitching a bit.
Tuesday night I went with Kristin, and it was fun, but not as fun as Wednesday when I went with Stephanie. Kristin worries more about what other people think so I didn't yell or scream or talk to people around us because she doesn't like to draw in attention. She knows a lot about baseball and stuff, but she's stuffy. It's like she can't lighten up. For example, we went to McDonald's before the game. I understand that there are bad areas in Milwaukee but honestly, not wanting to actually go into McDonald's was annoying and a bit excessive. We weren't in the bad part of the city. Anyways, on Wednesday I got completely into the game. At several points people looked at Stephanie and raised their eyebrows at her. After Heyward's three run homer, I started screaming, "You're a stud!" and cheering loudly. One man turned around and asked if the Braves will be that generous when the Brewers go to Atlanta. Anyways, me and Stephanie had a hilarious time. First of all, we left at 3:30. What should've been an hour drive took us nearly three. We got so turned around and lost. It was ridiculous. But we laughed about it, joked, and then we finally made it to Miller.
It was a good time and I can't wait to go to more games this year!
