Sunday night sleeplessness

I've never been a fan of Sunday nights. Falling asleep is always a challenge for me. And knowing my alarm will start buzzing at 5:15 makes it just that much more worse. I've spoiled myself lately by allowing nine to ten hours of sleep a night. That's not practical considering to get even eight hours of dream time I need to be asleep by 9:15. Anyways, morning comes too quickly for me. Every morning I do the same thing. Shut off my alarm, stumble out of bed, put on some mascara, search for clean clothes, and rush out to my car at 5:35 saying, "dang it! I'm going to be late again." Depending on the red light when I turn off my exit, I'm either a few minutes early or a few minutes late. Usually the second option.

This morning I met Melanie for breakfast and it was so nice chatting and catching up with one of my oldest friends. We laughed over old times, filled each other in on this and that, and just did the usual girl talk. Turns out she's back in town because, well, she's moving back in with her parents. For the summer anyways, until she figures out what she will be doing next year. Her and Evan separated last weekend and she packed her bags and moved out of their apartment. They've been together since July of 2007 but have been best friends for nearly 8 years now. I can't even imagine. Nonetheless, it was wonderful to see her again. After breakfast we headed back to her house to play a little work out game on her X-box while we killed time before going to see the movie "Source Code". (It was a very good movie. Highly recommended.) I ate dinner with her and her parents then watched a bit of television and "The A-Team" before heading home for the night. She's turning 21 on the 12th. I can't believe it. Life is going by fast. It doesn't seem that long ago that we were sitting at the Olive Garden goofing off and giggling in celebration of her 13th birthday. Hopefully, if I don't work early the morning after her birthday (which isn't likely), we'll venture to a comedy club in Madison. While we  were talking today, we came up with an ingenious idea to go on a road trip after our semester is over.

It's nearly 9 o'clock so I should shut off the computer, turn on my relaxing rain sound, and try to sleep.

Only one day until Tuesday. Only one day until I see the Braves. Speaking of the Braves, they won today! Way to go guys! Let's bring it to the Series.
